कोसी की कोख की व्यथा

हम गंगा पुत्र है. हमारी मिट्टी को गंगा और इसकी बहनों का प्यार मिला है. खेती कर हम अपने और अपने परिवारों का पेट पालते हैं, हमें गंगा-कोसी-कमला-गंडक आदि नदियों की मात्रि - छाया मिली है.
माँ कभी-कभी नाराज भी हो जाती है, लेकिन इतनी निर्दयी और निष्ठुर हो जायेगी ऐसा तो कभी सोचा भी नहीं था. माँ ने हमारा घर-द्वार, खेत-खलिहान सब नष्ट कर दिया. आज माँ के आँचल में, खुले मैदानों में तिरपाल और साडी की छत के नीचे हमारी रातें कटती हैं. पेट की आग को देह की ठण्ड ने भुला दिया है. कटीली सर्द हवाएं तो जानलेवा हैं. अब तो अपने घुटनों को पेट तक पूरा समेट कर भी, इस ठण्ड से कोई राहत नहीं मिलती. छोटे-छोटे बच्चों की हालत देखी नहीं जाती. जिन्दगी बोझ की तरह घिसट-घिसट कर उबड़-खाबड़ पगडंडियों पर सरक रही है.
महाभारत काल से आज तक, शायद गंगा पुत्रों की यही नियति है की बाणों से बिंधे हुए शरीर को भी, मौत अपनी इच्छा से नहीं मिलती, उन्हें रोज मर-मर कर जीना पड़ता है.
हाँ, हम तो गंगा-पुत्र हैं.

अभी कई मंजिलें तय करनी हैं

पिछली पोस्ट में अनिल जी ने जो दास्तान सुनाई है मेरे विचार से ये दास्तान सिर्फ़ रमेश की नहीं, उन लाखों बाढ़ पीड़ितों की है, जिनका सर्वस्व कोसी ने छीन लिया. मारवाड़ी युवा मंच ने ठण्ड से कांपती इनकी बेबसी को अपनी सेवा की गर्माहट दी है. हमारे संसाधन और फंड सीमित हैं, फ़िर भी हमने हजारों कम्बल बाँटें हैं. ३००० से अधिक परिवारों को "घर वापसी किट" बाँटें हैं. इन किट्स में एक परिवार की जरुरत के सारे सामान दिए गए हैं, लगभग ५५ लाख की लागत से संपन्न हुआ यह प्रोजेक्ट, हमारे महत्वाकांक्षी पुनर्वास प्रोजेक्ट की सफलता का प्रथम सोपान है. अभी कई मंजिलें तय करनी हैं तथा कई लक्ष्य पाने हैं. मानवता की सेवा के इस व्रत में युवा मंच साथियों, हमारे समस्त सहयोगियों और दान-दाताओं का सहयोग हमें उदारतापूर्वक प्राप्त हुआ है और हमें विश्वास है की सबके सहयोग से हम उजड़े हुए घरों को फ़िर से बसा कर, फ़िर से जगायेंगे - उम्मीदें जिन्दगी की

कोसी के कछार पर अब ठण्ड से कंपकपी

बाढ़ के बाद बिहार :
खुले आकाश तले ये सर्द रातें कैसे कटेगी? कोसी क्षेत्र के लाखों बाढ़ पीडितों के मन में अब यह नया सवाल कौंधने लगा है. वे इस अहसास से ही सिहर रहे है. बाढ़ ने घर-मकान, दूकान-सामान, खेत-खलिहान सब बर्बाद कर दिया. और अब ठण्ड की मार. जब तन ढकने के लिए कपड़े न हों ऐसे में गरम कपड़ा कहाँ से लायें. त्रिवेणीगंज, मधेपुरा, फोरबिसगंज, सहरसा, मुरलीगंज, प्रतापगंज आदि बाढ़ प्रभावित क्षेत्रों के सामने आज यह सबसे बड़ा सवाल मुह बाये खड़ा है. कैसे कटेगी ये सर्द ठिठुरती हुई रातें? अब तो न सरकार कहीं दिखाई दे रही है और न ही विपक्षी दल.

अन्य क्षेत्रों की तुलना में कोसी की भौगोलिक संरचना में भी फर्क है - यह चारों ओर से खुला है. नदी के किनारे बसेरा है. हवाएं सीधी चोट करती है. कहीं कोई रुकावट नहीं. सर्द हवाएं हड्डियाँ तक कंपा देती है. मुरलीगंज के रमेश कहते है - आधी रोटी खाकर किसी तरह रातें गुजरते है, लेकिन इस ठण्ड से बचना तो नामुमकिन लग रहा है.

Flood relief and rehabilitation project by Marwari Yuva Manch

A long-term relief and rehabilitation project - "Ummide" will be launched very soon by the Bihar Prantiya Marwari Yuva Manch (BPMYM) for the flood affected people in Bihar.

Earlier, delegation of BPMYM headed by Smt. Sarita Bajaj & Sri Jagdish Chandra Mishra distributed relief materials including infant food, milk powder, food grains, biscuits, torches, clothes, medicines, utensils and tarpaulin sheets to the flood-affected people in various districts. Total Relief material worth Rs. 1.5 Crore were
distributed among the people.

Permanent Mega Relief camps were setup by Marwari Yuva Manch volunteers at Triveniganj and Supaul blocks of Supaul district, Forbesganj block of Araria district and in Madhepura Town.We were following a relay model. We were looking at three dimensions: reaching out to the needy at rescue points, exclusively engaging with the most vulnerable families on a long term basis, and damage assessment.

The floods in Bihar have displaced 3.2 million people and killed hundreds of people. The words "FLOODS IN BIHAR" convey the impression that this is something which happens every year. But unfortunately, the floods occurring this year caused by River Kosi which changed its course due to an embankment breach at Indo-Nepal border, brought a havoc of unthinkable magnitude submerging thousands of villages in
water which had never experienced floods in last hundred years. Millions of people were left homeless along with a huge loss of lives and property in parts of Bihar that were already marginalized.

Marwari Yuva Manch is carrying out second phase of relief work (or you can say 1st phase of rehabilitation program) in the affected districts by supplying rehabilitation kits (all necessary items included in a kit) after the surveys conducted by its volunteers to ensure that relief is getting to those who need it the most. Like with any other relief work after a natural disaster, funds become
a major constraint. If we have sufficient funds available, then the required relief supplies including food and medicines can be procured locally and more people can be hired to help us in carrying the relief work at the ground. Now we are focusing on Permanent rehabilitation project and hope people will come forward to help us for
this noble cause.
